The Southwind Local Society is located in North West San Antonio, with a second location coming soon to New Braunfels, TX!
The Local Society is a multi-use space hosting Locals daily in a variety of ways:
A Monday through Thursday program providing an empowering environment where adults with differing abilities may work towards wholistic wellness (mind, body, and soul) and find meaningful experiences each week. Our Day Locals are surrounded by their peers, while attending independent living skills classes, hobby classes, creative opportunities, social groups, and community outings. Fun, purposeful and engaging classes for our City Locals, focused on growing and refining social skills, appropriate peer relationships, strengthening independent living skills and enhancing job readiness.
A space for Local artisans to create freely and grow their skills in a supportive environment.
A space for Locals to gather, hang out with friends, have some healthy snacks, play games, and build appropriate peer relationships, in their free time, in a safe, encouraging, and fun environment.
A space for budding non-profits and church-plants to comfortably work, serve, or hold meetings from time to time, free of charge, until they have a place of their own.
A space for evening gatherings, Local group events and fun, positive events, open to the community.
DAY LOCAL CLASSES & activities:
Independent living skills classes including transportation training and cooking classes.
Optional spiritual wellness & devotional time
Both on & off-campus, missionally driven, service opportunities. Our "Locals" are trailblazers in the San Antonio community and in the world, coming along side local non-profits to truly make an impact in the lives of others. Through partnerships with likeminded organizations, our Locals participate in a variety of mission focused work, utilizing their own unique gifts, talents, and passions to find fulfillment through service.
Life-building instruction to grow each Local's passions and build their independence.
Therapy based music classes.
Therapy based horticulture classes.
Therapeutic time with program companion pets.
Physical activity classes (gentle yoga, nature walks, zumba, etc.) Safety is top priority at Southwind, and all physical activity classes are tailored to each Local's individual level of ability.
Transition based life groups for Day Locals with the intention of moving to the City Locals independent living community program at Southwind Fields. Day Locals and City Locals have seniority with regard to applications to the upcoming Tiny Home Community program upon availability and appropriateness of placement.
Local society HOURS:
Monday through Friday 9:00am to 1:00pm
*We are working on building transportation options for our day program (drop off and pick-up) and are prayerfully working to raise money for this purpose.

Monthly Membership: $300/month
*Future transportation options will require an additional fee
