MEET THE TEAM

 

Timothy Gutierrez, MA: Director of business development

Tim began his career as an Employment Specialist in the late 1990’s, serving women and men exiting from the Bexar County Adult Detention Center. By 2020, Gutierrez earned a Master of Arts in anthropology from UTSA and multiple Vocational Rehabilitation credentials from UNT which allowed him to work as a Job Placement Specialist for the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. Tim brings a unique perspective to assisting persons with disabilities as he has overcome many of the same employment barriers himself in order to be in a position that allows him to help others. An extensive network of resources and employers and proven job placement strategies have enabled him to place numerous jobseekers into well-matched, meaningful jobs.


KADIANN VAUGHN: WELLNESS Director

A caregiver at heart, “Kadi” has spent her entire career helping others to reach their personal potential, and have fun while putting in the work! Her experience ranges from direct care within the special needs community, to psychiatric assistance, to years as a CNA/PCT for UTMB Galveston and UTMB Clear Lake, working in several departments from the ER, to geriatrics, to med surge to pediatrics. Her significant background combined with her nurturing personality, make her the perfect match for the Southwind Fields team.


JOHNELLE TURNER, lVN: financial director

As the mother of an adult son with Asperger's, as well as 40+ years of nursing experience and financial coordination, Johnelle continues to focus on a more natural approach to wellness and a Jesus economy approach to finance.  She has a passion to see adults and children with disabilities live to their fullest potential.  


Delaney Bellieu: local advisor

Delaney’s biggest passion is helping others. She believes in pouring life into all living things and encouraging growth in any way she can. Her strong administrative skills, combined with her ability to see the best in everyone, makes her the perfect fit for the Southwind Fields team. As a college student, Delaney is heavily involved in equine and animal sciences, with hope of one day building an equestrian therapy program for Southwind that will not only benefit our local’s overall well-being, but will provide optimal employment opportunities for those with similar interests, as well.


Cathy Buff: Local Advisor

A very familiar face to Southwind Locals, “Ms. Cathy” has been working with them for years, at our partner apartment complex, assisting them in getting their leases completed. In March 2024, Ms. Cathy transitioned from her role in property management to working at Southwind as an advisor, bringing with her, a deep understanding of the importance of finding independence and a the dignity that comes with a place to call your own.


Kate McComack-Morris: integrative learning coordinator

Kate is dedicated to creating a fun and fulfilling Local Society experience. She finds joy in helping others discover their strengths and learn new things. Through her experience in the arts and teaching, Kate provides education and activities attuned to individuals’ interests and goals. As a college student, Kate is very involved in theatre and improv, both of which she loves to share in hopes of bringing joy to others.


ANGELA SHERROD: HOME INSTRUCTOR

Angela is first and foremost a mom to an adult son with Autism who just happens to be a Southwind Fields Local! She has dedicated years to research, and advocating for not only Autism awareness, but the best interests of those with special needs. Angela earned a Bachelor of Social Work in 1992 from The University of North Alabama, and utilized her gifts and talents primarily within mental health centers, serving abused and neglected children and their families. Additionally, Angela served as a case manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters. She first brought her wealth of knowledge and experience to Southwind Fields as a Local Mentor in 2022 and we were thrilled when she agreed to join our team!


Lauren Bellieu: Administrative Assistant

With limitless compassion and a welcoming spirit, Lauren brings much to the table as a member of the Southwind team. Starting as a volunteer at The Local Society for several years, Lauren’s eagerness to learn and willingness to help wherever needed, lead to a part-time position in March of 2024. Her career experiences in both child development and hospitality have lent themselves to a well rounded skillset that has proven to be the perfect addition to the team, especially with regard to contacting and creating relationships with community employers for our Locals.


Phil vaughn: special projects coordinator

Phil rounds out our team with the perfect mix of heart and business acumen. Retiring from NASA in 2020, he has 50+ years of extensive experience in the field of aeronautical and space sciences. Such incredible expertise create a secondary skill set that has become incredibly beneficial to our organization and team, helping to organize and develop special projects and administrative tasks that take Southwind Fields to a whole other level of excellence.
